What it actually does
The Seatylock Mini is a hardened-steel folding lock, 75 cm long, which the manufacturer also recommends for e-scooters. The bars are 5 mm thick, and a patented system is said to protect the rivets against sawing and side cutting. The cylinder is described as resistant to drilling and picking. The lock holds Sold Secure Silver certification and sits at 14/18 on Seatylock's own resistance scale. Folded, it measures 17.5 cm by 6 cm and weighs 0.89 kg. A mount and 3 keys with a card are included. Velo-Store CH sells it for CHF 59.22 instead of CHF 71.80, an 18 percent discount.
Reasons for
- Sold Secure Silver certified
- 0.89 kg at 75 cm length
- Anti-drill cylinder, per manufacturer
Reasons against
- Silver, not Gold rating
- Delivery adds CHF 17.99
Who should skip it
If you lock a bike overnight in public places, look for a higher Sold Secure level than Silver. If you need to reach around thick posts, 75 cm is limiting. And if you already own a U-lock, the main gain here is pack size.
