Privacy notice

Version: October 2026. Controller: Ramon Lisibach, Zurich area, Switzerland, hello@as-seen-on.org. This notice follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR (Art. 13/14).

In short

• No cookies, no tracking scripts, no third-party scripts and no ad networks on our pages.
• Videos (YouTube/TikTok) load only after you click (two-click embed).
• Server logs are analysed without the full IP address (daily rotating hash).
• When you click a shop link you leave this site; Awin and the shop process data under their own rules.

1. Hosting and server logs

The site runs on a server in Switzerland. On every request the web server records technically necessary data: time, requested address, HTTP status, referrer, browser identifier (user agent) and IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 31(1) revFADP).

For audience measurement the logs are processed hourly. The IP address is hashed with a random value that changes daily; the original IP is not stored for this purpose. The result consists of counts only (page views, clicks per product). Raw logs are deleted after processing, at the latest after 7 days.

2. No cookies

Our pages neither set nor read cookies, hence no cookie banner. Local storage is not used either.

3. Affiliate links (Awin)

Shop buttons lead via this site's /go/… address to Awin (Awin AG, Eichhornstrasse 3, 10785 Berlin, Germany) and from there to the shop. After the click Awin sets cookies or stores a click ID to attribute a later purchase to this site (commission). We pass on only a product/campaign identifier (e.g. the product slug and the platform the visit came from), never personal data. Awin's privacy notice: awin.com/gb/privacy. Processing in the shop is governed by the shop's own privacy notice.

4. Product images

Product images are loaded from the merchants' content delivery networks (e.g. Shopify CDN, aboutyou cloud), partly via our server as an intermediary (the CDN then only sees our server's IP). When loaded directly, the merchant CDN receives your IP address and user agent, as with any image on the web.

5. Videos: two-click embed

Embedded videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) or TikTok (TikTok Technology Ltd., Ireland) are not loaded automatically. Only when you click "Load video" is a connection to the provider established; from then on its privacy terms apply and cookies may be set (YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com). Your click is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 31(1) revFADP).

6. E-mail contact

If you write to us we process your details to answer your request and delete them once no longer needed.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Since we do not link any personal data to your name, we can usually only provide information about e-mail correspondence. Supervisory authority in Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Persons in the EU may contact their national supervisory authority.

8. Changes

We will update this notice when the site changes (for example if advertising requiring consent is added later).
