What it actually does
The M8 is a handheld wireless air mouse with a microphone button for voice input. According to the manufacturer, it works with Android TV boxes, mini PCs, smart TVs and car screens, with an operating distance of up to 10m. It can also learn an infrared code from another remote: hold the power button for 3 seconds, place the two remotes 1-5cm apart, press the power button on the original remote, and the code is saved. Pressing OK and Backspace together clears it.
Reasons for
- Air mouse with voice button
- Learns infrared codes from other remotes
- Range of up to 10m
Reasons against
- US shop, prices in USD
- No details on voice features
Who should skip it
If your TV or car screen already has a usable remote or voice control, this adds little. The listing does not say how the voice input works technically and names no specific device models, so expect some trial and error.
