What it actually does
The Paulmann Solveig is a black, flat-profile LED outdoor wall light with a built-in solar module that, according to the manufacturer, keeps the integrated battery charged. A motion sensor switches the light on only when needed and is operated via a small switch on the housing. A dusk sensor triggers below 20 lux. After detecting movement the light stays on for 15 seconds; detection range is 2 m with a 120° angle. Paulmann quotes a charging time of roughly 8-10 hours. Lampenwelt CH sells this trend gadget for CHF 41.90 instead of CHF 53.14, a 21 percent reduction.
Reasons for
- Motion and dusk sensor built in
- No mains wiring thanks to solar
- Flat black housing
Reasons against
- Sensor range only 2 m
- Lights for 15 seconds per trigger
Who should skip it
Anyone who wants permanent evening light should look elsewhere: the Solveig stays on for only 15 seconds after a trigger and detects movement within just 2 m. A solar light is also a poor fit for a wall that gets little direct sun.
