What it actually does
The MEDISANA talking scale PS 425 is a battery-powered bathroom scale. According to the manufacturer, it switches on as soon as you step on it and switches off when you step off. It is meant to announce the reading; the listing says nothing about languages or volume. It measures 31 x 31 cm, is 2.5 cm high and is rated for up to 180 kg. Materials are plastic, metal and glass; the colours listed are black and white. It costs CHF 39.95 at Die moderne Hausfrau CH, a Swiss shop, where 5 ratings average 5.0.
Reasons for
- Switches on and off automatically
- Rated for up to 180 kg
- Slim at 2.5 cm high
Reasons against
- Battery type and languages not stated
- Only 5 ratings so far
Who should skip it
If you prefer reading your weight silently or do not want housemates to overhear, a voice announcement is no benefit. Anyone expecting body-fat analysis, app connection or user profiles finds nothing on that in the listing. Just 5 ratings also make the 5.0 average a thin basis.
